For the new #Takeoff project, three groups of teenagers and young adults, under the direction of three choreographers and inspired by the ballet Les Noces, will explore the transition from youth to adulthood. How do young people experience their departure from childhood and the process of detachment from the parental home? What does it mean to venture out of the safety and warmth of the «nest» into the unknown world? Does it mean summoning up all one’s courage and jumping into the deep end, or rather being pushed and forced to cut one’s braids, as happens to the girl in Les Noces?
